A reputable company located in Tanzania is hiring a General Manager
Job Description:
Monitors the sales and profitability of all units within his jurisdiction on a daily basis.
Formulates plans to increase sales and profitability.
Guides unit managers on calculated space allocations and effective merchandising of products.
Effective merchandising of promotions clearly visible, to help increase sales and basket value.
Analyses performance of respective units through budget reviews and degree of adherence.
Assists and advices on selection and merchandising of seasonal and or new products.
Participates in pricing resolutions of products.
Negotiates on specialized deals with supplier’s subject to Executive management’s approval.
Formulates plans to optimize stock holding.
Designs relevant systems to minimize and or eliminate shrinkages, pilferage and loss.
Generates management reports for review and appraisals as well as prepares an ‘Annual Operating Plan’ in a timely manner together with recommendations that could enhance or streamline operations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role
Experience in planning and budgeting
Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
