A multinational company located near Cornish El Nil- El Tahrir is hiring a Project Planner


Job Description:
  • Operating System
    • Follow guidelines and prescribed structures as outlined by the Operating System
    • Provide continuous input towards improvement and optimization of the Operating System
  • Support to Opportunity and Development Phase of Projects
    • Compile Project Programmes (Schedules) for Opportunity / Development as required by Business Development
    • Assist in developing Milestones to be integrated in the relevant PPA (If applicable)
    • Compile Programme Memorandum Basis incorporating all the necessary information relevant to the Project.
    • Compile / Prepare overall master project programme (schedule) integrating the standard Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
  • Support to Structuring Phase of Projects
    • Update the structuring program on progress and to establish the delivery program for the execution phase
    • Compile / Prepare overall master project program (schedule) integrating the standard Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
    • Coordinate schedule from multiple contractors and incorporate the information gathered into the overall project master schedule, including histogram analysis
    • Elaborate documentation needed to support main EPC contract document; suppliers and sub-contractor EPC request for quotation documents and final Purchase Orders
    • Update Programme Memorandum Basis regarding new and relevant information
    • Understand contractual matter, identify critical milestones and notifications (PPA analysis), incorporate on the master project program
    • Track, monitor and forecast progress ofall activities on the project, communicate with the team members about activities to be performed and deadlines. Analyze gaps between planned and actual progress; highlight areas of concern which required actions and recovery plan
    • Report project progress including: inputs for client monthly progress report, program, S-Curve, internal project status reports, critical path analysis, milestones related to cash flow
Qualifications:
  • Formal Technical Qualification (Construction, Engineering, Project Management)
  • Advanced knowledge of Planning Tools (Primavera, MS Projects, MS Office)
  • Sound understanding of multi-cultural environments
  • PMP / PMI-SP or similar
  • Engineering degree or similar
  • Contract Management training in FIDIC, NEC, EPCM, etc.
  • Ability to compile multi-disciplinary Project Programmes (Schedules)
  • Ability to integrate Subcontractors Programme into Overall Master Programme
  • 8+ years working experience in a multi-disciplined construction project environment
  • This includes the following:
  • 5+ years of project planning and scheduling experience in an EPC organization working on projects
  • Management of the construction of high voltage networks and sub-stations
  • Estimation of activity duration and manpower
  • Critical path analysis and risk evaluations
  • Experience with construction of high voltage networks and sub-stations is a plus
  • Should be available and accustomed to travel extensively internationally to 3rd world countries
  • Must be able to work in an open plan environment
  • Must be able to work extended hours
